European Christmas Markets

The Empty Nest Trip They'd Been Dreaming About

Frankfurt → Regensburg → Salzburg → Vienna → Budapest | 10 Days

After years of school schedules, sports seasons, and putting everyone else first, Mr. & Mrs. G were finally ready to travel for themselves.
They came to me with a dream: Europe in December, by train, slow enough to actually feel it. No tours. No rushing. Just the two of them, a first-class rail pass, and cities they'd always meant to see.
We built a route through five of Central Europe's most beautiful cities — arriving in Frankfurt and winding east through Regensburg, Salzburg, Vienna, and finally Budapest. December in this part of the world is something else entirely. Christmas markets, candlelight, cobblestones dusted with frost. Every stop had its own kind of magic.
They didn't have to think about a single thing. It was all handled. All they had to do was arrive — and enjoy every moment of the trip they'd earned.

This is what travel looks like when the planning is done right.
